This was a really interesting read, and very persuasive. The science of it is good and really got me interested in my breathing.
This book was a little confusing to follow, but the bottom line is that training the breathing muscles allows one to breathe better during sports, and thus perform better. Bottom line: work your core muscles! A lot of the running-specific exercises are your standard core exercises (planks, bridges, bird-dogs, etc) but it's always good to know that working your core is essential for MANY reasons, and breathing is just one more of them. I found a lot of the exercise photos to be a little creepy because everybody has a breathing apparatus in their mouth in the figures. Um... I think I'll skip that part!
