This is one of the best books I have read on forgiveness. He separates forgiveness from restoration, and makes it clear that forgiving is not forgetting, but seeing clearly and honestly.
Best spiritual book I have ever read on the topic of forgiveness of terrible wrongs even evil done to us. He even has a chapter entitled ' Monsters ', so it is a book that does not sugar coat the evils and awful things people do and say to one another, including children. Highly recommended.

What a great book on a subject most people avoid! I'll likely revisit this in the future; it was so rich with insight I feel I would get even more on a second reading.

Lewis Smedes holds a lot of anger. He has dealt with a lot in his past, but he should not be writing a book on forgiveness when it seems he has not truly grasped the concept himself.
Unravels the myths about forgiveness and sets us free to understanding that forgiveness can be not only a possibility but a reality.
