Very positive portrayal of Islam and how difficult it is for parents to see their child go a different way, even if they see it is a good way.

I enjoyed this book. The women honestly related their struggles (or lack thereof) in converting to Islam. Many of the women had dabbled in other religions before settling on Islam, and a surprising number of the rest were former Catholics who grew tired of being told to "just have faith" when the priests couldn't adequately answer their religious questions, particularly about the Trinity.

I liked that the author related her struggles to reconcile her feelings of betrayal when her daughter converted to Islam after marrying an Iranian man. She took it personally. She makes no bones about the fact that the process of acceptance took time and distance, and that it wasn't easy on her husband or daughter and son-in-law.

I wish that someone would have done a better job proofreading and editing this book. Some parts were too repetitive, and there were numerous mistakes in spelling and grammar that should have been corrected. I would like a reissued, updated version. ( )
