The story was interesting, especially for dog lovers. The best parts for me were the anecdotes that any dog owner could relate to: the complications of traveling with a dog, the inordinate amount of time you spend thinking about their bathroom habits, the stress of trying out a new dog park.

The writing was only OK, particularly where remembered conversations were written as dialogue. Still, there was a lot of heart behind it, and now I feel a strong urge to go look up Youtube videos of George and friend him on Facebook. ( )

George was the runt of his litter, a Great Dane who came home with Dave and Christie when he was only 7 weeks old. By the time he was fully grown, though, he was almost 250 lbs! (Almost 100 lbs larger than the average adult Great Dane!) He was also very friendly and loved people. George eventually made it into the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s tallest dog.

This was a good story. He’s a sweet dog. There are photos included, as well. ( )

With his big blue eyes and soulful expression, George was the smallest and most irresistible pup of the litter. But Dave and Christie Nasser's "baby" ended up being almost 5 feet tall to the top of his head, seven feet long, and 245 pounds. The story of how this precocious puppy won Dave's and Christie's hearts and, along the way, became a doggie superstar. ( )
