God Bless the authors and illustrators who depict the loving chaos that can be in a home.

Beverly Cleary excels at depicting normal and loving, everyday family life.

I had no idea she’d written a picture book and I was very happy to read it. ( )

A story of Petey's bedtime routine, he loves going to bed but tonight he is in no hurry to go to sleep. Petey stays up and tells his story of the way he was brought into the world. This would be good to read with children about imagination. ( )

The story, "Petey’s Bedtime Story" is about a little boys bedtime routine. Petey does the normal bedtime things such as; take a bath, put on pjs, and listen to a bed time story. After this Petey always wants to hear how he was born. Every night Petey’s dad begins to tell him and then he falls asleep. Once the dad is asleep the little boys imagination runs wild. He thinks of all these different ways he was born for example, one night he dreamed he was born in cowboy boots and a cowboy hat. Overall I thought this was a very cute story. ( )
