I loved to see Ben’s epic changing here from what we saw in the previous book. I’ve read so many of these where a guy who thinks he’s straight falls for a guy and seems to not have any coming out issues, but Ben starts off so opposed to potentially being seen as gay that he almost loses a wonderful man. I would have liked to read Micah’s POV, but we definitely needed to stick with Ben in this. I’m really loving how this author doesn’t stop with declarations of love but instead shows the reader how their lives together expand in gorgeous ways. ( )

This series is (as I've previously mentioned) strangely addictive. Even though the books are over-the-top sweet, cutesy, cheesy and we get an overload of sex, you just can't stop reading them. And oh boy, am I glad I kept going. If I had stopped I would have missed out on this gem!

This book is quite unlike the previous books. Don't get me wrong, we still have insta-love and it's still sweet. But there seems to be a lot more included this time. I felt there was a story I could sink my teeth into.

This one is about Ben. Ben, who in a previous book was actually quite a big douchebag. It's also told purely from his point of view, and we gain an interesting insight into his mind and thought processes. There is some angsting, but overall the story still remains true to the series in that there are rather a few "quick fixes" happening and of course the HEA is pretty much perfect at the end. However, the reduction of the amount of sex (there is still a lot, don't get me wrong lol), the cutting down on some of the cavity inducing sweetness and more of a storyline is definitely what is raising this book quite far above it's predecessors. My favorite book of the series. I wasn't sure why but now I know: there are long flashbacks, no teens (not a fan I prefere men) it's funny. Ben iner manalogues were super funny to me.
we meet the rest of characters here which is always welcomed. ( )

Ben has a hard time accepting himself as is. He's a gay man who has been told his entire life that being gay is wrong. His parents taught him that all gay men live wild and dangerous and end up alone. He has always been the good son. No matter how old he gets, it's hard to choose his happiness over pleasing his parents. When he meets Micah and can no longer deny his feelings, Ben goes through a life crisis trying to figure out how to move forward.

This story is filled with a family and friends vibe. I believe everyone can identify with Ben to some extent. We've all had to figure out who we are and where we're headed. I like the humor Ben brings. He tends to makes fun of himself to lighten the mood. Just What the Truth is also has lots of sexy bits and romance. I recommend this to those looking for a perfectly sweet happily ever after.

2.5 stars Part of me liked it, but some parts were unrealistic. At the end it was a little to mushy. Since I've read several of this authors books I knew it's heavy on the sweet romance. If your a fan then you'll enjoy it. ( )
