The Tycoon's Revenge

I enjoy reading this author's books. They are fun and light reads. This one is the first in the series but none of her books have to be read in order. That is one of the things I enjoy about her writing is that she may write the books as a series but never confines you to reading the whole series or in order.

So in this story we follow Derek as he extracts his revenge on the woman who broke his heart 10 years ago. He hasn't gotten over it because he has always felt that she left him because he was poor. Now that he was rich he was get her back for what she did. Jasmine is the woman that is on the receiving end of Derek's revenge scheme. 10 years has matured them but it hasn't changed their true feelings for one another. Once they come in show more contact with one anther old feeling reignite. Jasmine is hiding a secret from Derek though, and he has to decide if his pride is worth losing it all again.

I have to say that my favorite character is Jasmine. She has a love of books like no one else. I too can spend hours in a second hand book store shopping. Derek and his decision to get revenge makes it seem like he is God's gift to women. His ego is over inflated and I don't quite understand how someone can hold a grudge for 10 years because they were dumped by their girlfriend.

I enjoyed this fun read. It is fast paced and one that you can read in a day or over a weekend. The author's writing is easy to follow and flows well. The only thing I didn't like was that the story was not surprising. When you turned the corner in it you knew what was coming next. I wish that the story was a little different and so vanilla.

Overall I may not have been too happy with the story I still will read work from this author. I am drawn to HEA (Happy Ever After) like any female and contemporary romances can almost guarantee it especially Melody Anne's books. I recommend this read but due to some steamy scenes only age 18+. show less

The writing style is good and the storyline flows well. It's not my favorite book, nor is it something I'm likely to reread due to the content.

Incredibly frustrating. The hero harbours a childish thirst for revenge and the way he loves & hates the heroine and goes about his revenge is implausible and incredible. And one small discussion could have been the end of the whole misunderstanding. Glad it was free.

This book was so good. I really liked how the characters were mature and they had a kid together. It was nice for once to read something to do with kids as well. And of course I can't wait to read the other books in this series because Drew and the others really tucked my heart. So I recommend you read it yourself!

Hot steamy mess. This book is great full of sexy hotness, love, betrayal & happy endings.
