Beautifully illustrated versions of the Just So Stories. Does not include all of the stories, but does include all of the best ones. ( )

The best illustrated version for reading to children. It was so good, someone "borrowed" the copy I left in the Elementary School Counselor's room for Reading Day, and I only found replacements for it about 15 years later.
Language differs slightly from Kipling's originals, for better reading aloud to smaller children.

Contents: How the Whale got his Tiny Throat; How the Camel got his Hump; How the Leopard got his Spots; How the Elephant got his Trunk (The Elephant's Child); The Beginning of the Armadillos; The Sing-Song of Old Man Kangaroo; How the Rhinoceros got his Wrinkly Skin. ( )
