My Thoughts: I have to say that Abbi Glines blows me away. While “Predestined” is the middle book of a trilogy…it was not a typical middle book. This story, while a continuation of “Existence”, stands on it’s own. It was a complete story, and a fascinating one at that. And true to form, Abbi leaves us with a killer last sentence, setting up the next book.

“Predestined” explores the realm of other, lesser, deities. We learn what the deal is with Leif, and while he may be soulless, he certainly isn’t heartless. Abbi continues to be Abbi…willing to do anything and everything to keep those she loves safe and sound. There is some huge heartbreak, and some huge rejoicing. There is mystery and lots of romance, and thanks to Gee, lots of comic relief. “Predestined” is a great follow-up to “Existence”, and I dare say I liked it better! Can’t wait to see what she brings us with “Ceaseless”! I will be really sorry to see this trilogy end...but I’m sure Glines will come up with some other story I can’t put down and more characters for me to fall in love with…althought Dank Walker will be a hard act to follow.

Predestined starts where Existence left off. Finally Pagan and Dank can be together, but they soon find out that darker forces have a stake on Pagan's soul. Pagan's world is turned upside down with all the secrets and sacrifices that have been made so that she could live a normal healthy life. Will Pagan make the ultimate sacrifice to save those she loves? Will Dank move heaven and earth to be with Pagan...?

The chemistry between Pagan and Dank gets more intense. These star-crossed lovers will defy all odds to be together, no matter what. Abbi Glines has created a world that draws you in from the very first page. You are captivated by the characters and the mythology surrounding Dank's existence. A truly swoon worthy tale that keeps you show more laughing, crying, sighing, cursing, and fighting right along side of Pagan and Dank! show less
Do I need to repeat myself? Oh. My. God. Need I say more? Okay just a bit more, Abbi Glines as done it again. Abbi has the ability to evoke many different emotions from just one book with her story telling. Speaking of emotions, the last sentence of every chapter ends eliciting many (emotions) from me. Somewhere along the line of reading I found myself at the end of a chapter, gasping, laughing, sighing, swooning, cursing, and saying things like "Are you freaking kidding me?", etc. Every chapter seems to ends with a surprise, which I loved, never read anything like that before, it was entertaining, and kept me absorbed. I had the same reactions-plus at the beginning, middle, over and under every chapter as well.

Dank still has me in a show more trance with his very maleness, very overprotective and bad ass. I have to say I also like Pagan a lot, I'm always afraid she's going to be the typical heroine and be slow to realize she has another option. She always quickly remembers Dank loves her and she can trust him. Good girl.

Can't wait to move on the next one and see how Abbi Glines will put me in a swoony emotional mess again.

Oh to be Pagan. Death loves you. This other guy loves you. Wait...it seems like everyone that runs into Pagan can't help but love her. I think this story alone has at least 3....maybe 4 that do. I think that's my biggest frustration. I just don't understand why everyone likes Pagan so darn much. She's bossy and loudmouth and has a temper. She begs everyone to buy her things, mainly food. She barely ever says thanks. and yet everyone wants her. She isn't described as being drop dead gorgeous....

So this story continues with Pagan prancing around with Dank (I still don't like his name). We learn the story of Leif and why book 1 ended with the ominous words. We also learn more about how things in Dank's world work. It's not pretty and there show more are things that run in both their lives that Pagan wasn't aware of. Things that are making themselves very known. It's a bit of a messy story but it gets better in the end, when it all comes together.

I'm intrigued enough to read book 3 but only because this book had a teaser that sounded interesting.

Well. That was not what I was expecting! I have read a few different books with Voodoo, so it was hard to forget how it worked in those books to adapt to how they worked in this one. That being said I enjoyed it. I am still trying to figure out how I feel about Dank though! Usually I can pick a side immediately but there is someone else mentioned that I just can't help but think about. It is hard for me to like Dank when he knows Jay is her soul mate. I think if he loves her then he will let her be with him. Her soul is his other half! Maybe things will change in the next book! Anyways I am hooked on this series! Starting Leif (Book 2.5) now!
This is one of the rare incidences where I actually like the sequel better than the first book. I really enjoyed the alternating point of views and it was captivating to get inside Dank’s head. I think it made him more likable, especially since at times he comes off as a jealous jerk. The love scenes were great and it was another suspenseful novel. I would give it four and a half stars out of five. The only reason I’m taking away 1/2 a star is because the ending was kind of ho-hum. The conflict was resolved very quickly and the twist at the end was sort of predictable.
