Nice ending to the 'Love Comes Softly' series of eight books. Belinda is now well established as nurse/companion to a wealthy woman in Boston. She manages to visit her home town for a few weeks, and is then finds herself torn, undecided about where her future should lie.
Some parts are quite moving, and there's good character development in Belinda, as she discovers that she is no longer the naive young woman who left home. Towards the end of the book she must make an even more major decision, which leads in the end to a somewhat predictable but satisfying conclusion.
The Christian theme is emphasised perhaps a little more than in the earlier books, but even so I didn't find it too pushy or preachy.
It's very light fiction suitable for show more adults or teens; recommended to anyone who's read any others in this series. show less

The eighth book in the Love Comes Softly series: the continuing story of the children of Marty & Clark Davis, a young widow and widower who joined in a marriage of convenience, but found true love in God and each other. Set somewhere in the Canadian prairies and sometime in the pioneer/homesteading days, but no specific place or time are mentioned. Very satisfying stories, full of characters struggling in realistic ways with their faith amid the trials of life and finding hope in the true gospel of Jesus Christ. The male characters are admirable (not perfect), God-fearing, and honorable.
This is a nice wrap-up to the series. Belinda's way too perfect, but it's a sweet book. It reminded me how difficult it was in the past for people to move away from their families. In recent years, telephones, email, Skype and more convenient transportation have made it a lot less painful.

The delightful conclusion to the "Love Comes Softly" series. Belinda once again faces difficult decisions about her life. A very unexpected responsibility makes the choice even harder. And then the one person she'd never expected comes back into her life.

Belinda completes her education in Boston, but she and Drew had drawn apart. She finally leaves home only to find Drew there with a law practice, which requires a lot of misunderstandings to be cleared up and a happy ending.
