Whilst this made me laugh out loud in the beginning it was def a dark romance and I am NOT into 33 year old women having sex with 15 year olds. Also heavy on the sadism. Not for me.

DNF at 2961 on my Kindle Fire. Hated this....just my humble opinion. I am usually more careful when I choose my books to avoid wasting my time and money. I saw so many good reviews leading me to the conclusion there are many who did enjoy this book. I think it just proves we all have our own tastes. Happy reading! ( )

Dnf @ 44% after the shower scene. Nora's about to take Zach to her club, which she affectionally calls ‘hell’ (so cute), and I have absolutely zero interest in what she's going to 'teach' him there.

I'm actually furious right now, you guys. If this book had been marketed as 'erotic fantasy,' I'd just shrug and move on without a comment, but putting this up as 'contemporary BDSM erotica/ romance'? This was 50 shades all over again. I did not expect this, and I'm so disappointed and angry right now.

First things first. People have a right to fantasize about anything they want; however strange or unpleasant they may seem to others, they're just fantasies. Dub-con, rape fantasies, hell, get off to wet smelly socks for all I care, but do not present an abusive relationship as a good example of BDSM lifestyle to your more or less ignorant readers. They will believe you!! Fucking your sub until she bleeds? Beating her so hard her roommate wants to take her to the hospital after seeing her? ‘Staking your claim' by forcing yourself on her so unexpectedly and brutally that she actually forgets her safe word?

There's nothing erotic about this 'erotica.' Nothing authentic in the ‘BDSM’ scenes. Aftercare? What’s that? Not a thing you’ll find in this book, to be sure. He just leaves her like a used rag when he's done. I can only assume Mrs Reisz is completely unfamiliar with the subject. Once again — if you fancy yourself an erotica writer, feel free to do so, but label it accordingly, please. This book is a smear on the BDSM shelf, just as 50 shades was.

This woman is a piece of work! She casually mentions an act of pedophilia forced upon a 14 yo girl, and then goes on to say that made her develop a kink for suits. What in the everloving fuck is wrong with you, lady??

Nora… don’t even get me started on our precious 'dominatrix' h, and her philosophy of sacrifices and suffering in the name of love. When you have absolutely no masochistic tendencies, being in a relationship with a very enthusiastic sadist and passively accepting his unique brand of tough love is stupid, if not suicidal. It makes her — and she would love this word — a martyr (for love!!). Not what I wanted to read about, and I'm saying that as a person who appreciates every single part of the BDSM acronym. Safe, sane and consensual? Don't make me laugh. This was unsafe, insane, and that shower scene definitely crossed the line into non-con.

When someone submits to you on that level, they not only give you control over their pain and pleasure, they put their body, their mind, their comfort and safety, their life into your hands — however temporarily. Forget 'love,' that is the highest form of trust, and you owe them respect for that, you owe them your care. I'm just a little curious, in an abstract way not really requiring an answer - does our H ever treat the h gently? Does he touch her with anything other that brutal or proprietary hands, whips and other props of his trade? Does he monitor her mental state during and after a scene, knowing that submitting to that degree doesn't come easy for her? I’m not curious enough to keep reading, however. After that shower scene, I'm sure I do not want to read about Mr Sadist having sex with a male sub, ever *cringe* so I'm going to bow out now, more or less gracefully.

Oh, I almost forgot! On a completely unrelated note, I just had to highlight this quote:

which I found hysterical — in my estimation, the author herself omitted more than a hundred commas, and I’m only talking about the part I’ve read.

No rating, because I did no finish the book (and also because my friends here would probably kill me afterwards).

I tried to find something good in this, but I was bored out of my mind. I can't be bothered to finish it. ( )
