The story was interesting, especially for dog lovers. The best parts for me were the anecdotes that any dog owner could relate to: the complications of traveling with a dog, the inordinate amount of time you spend thinking about their bathroom habits, the stress of trying out a new dog park.

The writing was only OK, particularly where remembered conversations were written as dialogue. Still, there was a lot of heart behind it, and now I feel a strong urge to go look up Youtube videos of George and friend him on Facebook.
A delightful read.....Nasser was extremely straightforward in presenting everything about owning a very large dog---the largest!--when you start from puppy stage and go forth together as a family. He gives you everything--the good, the bad and the "oh dear!" George is a very treasured member of the Nasser family but it sounds as though he has earned his place, large though it is.
George may be an interesting dog, but his story is not so much. Everyday life challenges make for a sometimes amusing read (particularly tales of living with a giant puppy in a no-dogs-allowed apartment), but overall, the style is dry and matter of fact. Anecdotes that might be amusing come across as humdrum. However, the pictures provide a nice touch, allowing the readers to see "Giant George's" incredible size for themselves.

George was the runt of his litter, a Great Dane who came home with Dave and Christie when he was only 7 weeks old. By the time he was fully grown, though, he was almost 250 lbs! (Almost 100 lbs larger than the average adult Great Dane!) He was also very friendly and loved people. George eventually made it into the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s tallest dog.

This was a good story. He’s a sweet dog. There are photos included, as well.

With his big blue eyes and soulful expression, George was the smallest and most irresistible pup of the litter. But Dave and Christie Nasser's "baby" ended up being almost 5 feet tall to the top of his head, seven feet long, and 245 pounds. The story of how this precocious puppy won Dave's and Christie's hearts and, along the way, became a doggie superstar.

Giant George is an unprecedented seven feet long, almost five feet tall (at 43”), and almost 250 pounds. The Guiness Book of World Records has acknowledged him as the world’s tallest dog. It wasn’t always this way for George. He started as the smallest in his litter, even called “the runt”, when he was born in 2005.

Relocating back to his native Arizona, Dave Nasser promised his new bride Christie a puppy. It was initially a bribe of sorts. After the huge costs of the big Great Dane puppy and his super-sized supplies, Dave almost reconsidered. However, after “paws for thought”, they realized not only was George rapidly growing, so was their love for him.

Giant George has appeared on TV shows, YouTube videos, and is on show more Facebook. This is truly a wonderful story full of love and devotion between a dog and his people. This is how it is supposed to be. show less
just got ourselves a new puppy, a great dane. Nice to read and see that her behavior is a lot like Georges.
