I'm done waiting for this book. After the way the TV show ended, and GRRM continuing to put this project off so he can work on other projects most people don't give a shit about, I'm done. There's fanfiction out there way better than what GRRM probably has planned for the characters that managed to survive the first 5 books.
I also have plenty of books on my TBR list/pile with endings (and middles) I do not doubt will satisfy me more than this. And the last book - Winds of Winter - was published in 2011. I think at this point, we can just stop holding our breaths.

The sample chapters are amazing. If this novel ever will be released, I will be the first to buy it. If not, I am still very satisfied with the entries we have received so far.
If you live to be 84 years old, you have now spent 1/6th of that lifetime waiting for this book.
George will be 84 in 9 8 years. At 75 76 he has spent roughly 1/5th of his life procrastinating over this book.
Inflation has risen 40% since the last book came out.

GRRM gave up, and now my watch has ended.
Update: It's now 2020, and I return to this hopeful snapshot of my optimistic youth from time to time, to wonder what it must have been like to be so innocent. Alas.
It's 2017. I give up.
Update of the update: 2016 is half over. At this point I'm pretty sure when I purchase this book it's going to be a page that says 'just watch the show' followed by 600 blank pages.
Update: Alas, as 2015 begins to fade I come to the realization that my plan will never come to fruition. It was a good plan. I'll miss this plan.
Maybe 2016?
I have this plan that when this comes out in 2015 I'm going to drop my child (by then, age 4) off at grandma and grandpa's house, get myself a hotel room, and do nothing but read this for 3 days straight.

If there is one book I am going to read immediately whenever it is released, then it will be this one. Where is this time machine when you need it?
Enough is enough. I won't wait more for this shit. You can read your book if you want, George.
