Friends, ex-lovers, and enemies recall Sam Gunn, a rule-breaking space entrepreneuer, the late, colorful, fortune-hunting independent who despised the powerful. Each recalls an adventure with Sam as they talk to Jade, a young would-be reporter who is assembling a video biography. The stories are entertaining, well meshed to make a coherent whole, and Sam is a fun character (as long as you don't have anything he wants, as someone once told me about a local power-broker). The story overall quite satisfying as is always true of Bova. Recommended science fiction. ( ) no reviews | add a review
