Another one I saved from when I was a child. This is a thrilling idea for a horse crazy little girl. These two children find a pony and convince their parents to let them keep him until they find his owner. They ride him all summer and in the fall take him to a show where his owner recognizes him. They eventually get to keep him. I had my own pony growing up but still after reading this I always wanted to find another one. :-)
The boys enjoyed it, thank goodness. I'd have hated to have had to rap their little heads. ( )

This is a nice little story about a show pony that two children find. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like they should have done more to try to find the owner of the pony then just putting an ad in the newspaper. Maybe putting signs around town or something. But it's a good story, and I am glad that they got to keep the pony in the end. ( )

Book description
Back of Book-
More than anything in the world the twins, Jan and Jay, want a horse. And there, trotting down the road, is the most beautiful pony they've ever seen. It's like a dream come true!
"He looks like a show pony," says Father. The twins do enter him in the show, and the pony does not let them down.
But all the time Jan and Jay are afraid. Doesn't their wonderful pony really belong to someone else? When the owner turns up at last, it is more than the twins can bear.
