This book was amazing. It was a really great way to talk about forgiveness and how about not everyone is gets along. I think this is a great book to read when there is conflict in the classroom and talk about different ways to forgive, how to forgive.

This book has beautiful illustrations. It is a story I would use with my older students, to teach about forgiveness. In the book there is a river that runs between where two groups of people live. One group lives along one side of the riverbank, and another group lives on the other side. They both need this river to ensure their survival. The author shows us bad things happening, but i the end we are left with a sense of hope and peace. ( )

Great for an atheistic or multicultural book shear for your students. This book is great for all ages because it teaches students about forgiveness. However you will have to explain the cultural context on which the story is based to help the students understand. ( )

Found the afterward more powerful than the story. Uplifting tale despite it's unfortunate roots. Picture book for older readers. ( )
