I didn't really understand this book. It was all over the place and it was very hard to follow and still to this day, I don't think I really know what the story was. But then again, I read it a long time ago, so maybe I'm remembering wrong. I just remember being very confused by this book.

John Shirley was cyberpunk's Patient Zero, first locus of the virus, certifiably virulebt. A Carrier. City Come A-Walkin' is evidence of that and more. (I was somewhat chagrined, rereading it recently, to see just how ... (show all)much of my own early work takes off from this one novel.) -Foreword, William Gibson
A young woman in a recording studio adjusted her earphones and gave the engineer the signal. The engineer, on the other side of the booth's glass, nodded and pressed the button that would play the session back. She preferred ... (show all)the earphones. -Into
It was Saturday night, ten o'clock, which means that the club was full to capacity. It wasn't just full, it was tumescent. They were spilling out the windows. That was fine with Stuart Cole. The club depended on the extra rev... (show all)enue brought in by the Saturday night excess. But it meant he had to hire and, worse, pay three, count 'em, three bounces for the one night. And Cole had only found one bouncer, already overworked, the poor fellow's knuckles bruised. Cole was looking for two more and had already been turned down by two black belts, and an ex-Green Beret. It seemed they wanted to keep their faces intact. The Anesthesia had a reputation. -WUN!
