The third book in the tales of "How the Glallowglass Kids Got Married" takes us along with knight-errant Geoffrey as he's dispatched to apprehend the bandit Quicksilver. Calamity strikes when it turns out that Quicksilver is, in fact, a beautiful warrior maiden complete with her virginity! They quickly fall in love, which is apparent to everyone but themselves. The challenge, then, is how to arrange things so that Quicksilver can surrender to Geoffrey while keeping face and not lowering herself for any man, even the one she loves.
I was not as big a fan of this book as I was of Cordelia's tale. Although I enjoyed the slightly different story angle - where most of the story was told as flashbacks. I'm not sure the character of Finister is show more believable enough for me. She's definitely the over-arching villain, but she's not allowed ANY victory. show less
