This book is crazy sauce.... I did like how well written this book is and was really surprised considering how hyped these books are. But the hero is overly controlling and came on way too strong even for me and I adore my sexy alpha males. I had a feeling of telling the heroine to “run for the hills “ hehe but other times during the story I really had a fun time with this story. I probably just like all the crazy. But the one character I can’t even like....Kate, the best friends to the heroine is horrible. She is the worst friend ever and I couldn’t understand why she never supported the heroine and was pushing her towards Jesse .

I did have a fun time with this one and I eager for book two ( )

Perfect ending to the story. It was so worth the wait. I really liked how Ava's and Jesse's relationship grew in the book and they got to know each other along with some confessions. Loved the epilogue to the story. As I already said its the perfect ending and I look forward to reading Jodie's future books. ( )

The characters are likeable - occasionally I thought Ava was a little annoying but not overly so that it ruined the read, loved Jesse's alpha-maleness, Kate was a fun secondary character as was Sam. I liked that at the end of the book, Jesse is still left as a bit of a mystery, you don't know that much about him- it is something to look forward to in the next books as hopefully they shed some more light on his character. I thought the ending to the book was good, although as I love Jesse I didn't really like how it ended for him. It was a perfect start to the series. ( )

Haiku summary

Young interior designer Ava O'Shea has no idea what awaits her at the Manor. A run-of-the-mill consultation with a stodgy country gent seems likely, but what Ava finds instead is Jesse Ward--a devastatingly handsome, utterly confident, pleasure-seeking playboy who knows no boundaries. Ava doesn't want to be attracted to this man, and yet she can't control the overwhelming desire that he stirs in her. She knows that her heart will never survive him and her instinct is telling her to run, but Jesse is not willing to let her go. He wants her and is determined to have her.… (more)
