"This third volume of Royal pictures, inside information and tidbits, focusing the junior branches, the lesser known members of Queen Victoria's extended family, will disappoint none. The author's fondness for the people he is describing and his inimitable writing style has attracted thousands of regal readers all over the world. Read about the Mountbattens, the Athlones, the Cambridges, the Gloucesters and Kents, the Fifes and Connaughts as well as the four rather unknown sisters of the Duke of Edinburgh and their families. Even the Bowes-Lyons and the Snowdons are there..."--Amazon website."This third volume of Royal pictures, inside information and tidbits, focusing the junior branches, the lesser known members of Queen Victoria's extended family, will disappoint none. While I appreciate the intent of this book, the execution of it left something to be desired. The book details members of the extended British royal family: the Kents, the Gloucesters, the Cambridges (not Will & Kate), Queen Mary's family, the Connaughts, the Battenbergs, etc. Many photographs are lovely to look at, others are so blown out of proper proportions that they are extremely grainy and difficult to make out. I wish this publishers had taken greater care, as this book could have really been something. ( )
