I have not read previous books in this series, and I think that may have hampered me a bit. There are quite a few characters who are members of the book club, and it was hard for me to keep them straight and to figure out who was going out with who. (At one point, I was trying to figure out if Mark and Lizzie were married or just dating.)

The story centers around Mollie's childhood friend Teensy who has recently moved back to Ashton Corners and who has also written a book. Mollie agrees to help Teensy promote the book and gets her book club pals involved in this venture too. But then strange things start happening. Mollie gets attacked in her home and the thieves take Teensy's books. Teensy's publisher is murdered. Teensy is attacked in show more her home. Mollie's boyfriend Bob has a dead body and counterfeit money found on his property.

Despite all this, Teensy keeps vital information from the police and FBI that might have helped them figure out who was behind it all much sooner. (I also found it very odd to be calling a senior citizen character Teensy throughout the entire book.)

Meh.

Average read, average characters, better-than-average murder plotting.

Neither loved nor hated it, although the constant back-and-forth between the MC and her boyfriend, the chief of police got old.
Cover Story in the third book in the An Ashton Corners Book Club Mystery series.

I love this series and enjoy how the author borrows lines from other author's books and uses them as chapter heading, then works that into the chapter.

Molly's girlhood friend, Teensey Coldicutt, is moving back to Ashton Corners and her first book is soon to be published by a local publisher. Molly and the book club decide to book on a book launch and other promotions for Teensey. After the books for the club have been delivered, Molly is accosted in her home and the books are stolen. A day or two later Lizzie finds the publisher dead at the print shop. Lizzie goes back a couple days later replace the books that were stolen and finds counterfeit money in some show more of the boxes of books. Then when a body is found in the yard of book club member Bob Miller and he becomes a person of interest, Lizzie needs to pull out all the plugs and piece together just who the murderer is.

All the characters from the previous books are back to lend a hand with the book promotion and help with the information gathering to find the murderer.

The series has group of wonderful characters who all have their own stories that the readers will learn about.

Ashton Corners is a lovely place to live and a community full of helpful friends.

Looking forward to book #4.
