( ![]() This is a great book as it has Albert Einstein as a child who is different and quirky and his mind is always wondering. He wonders about time, space, and on a beam of light. It has him grow and shows how because he had such "big" wonderings, he became one of the smartest men in the world. It encourages the need to keep questioning, to be curious, and how it is okay to be different. Even as a very young boy, Albert Einstein was fascinated with a myriad of ideas and possibilities. Though his behavior was often questioned, he grew up to be one of the most revolutionary scientific minds of all time. On a Beam of Light: A Story of Albert Einstein, a young boy starts to ride down a road, but something seems to be on his mind. He starts to envision himself traveling at a speed of light beyond imagining, on a beam of light. This would soon lead to the most brilliant mind and a revolutionary idea that was ever conceived. With this book being offered to the classroom, they can take in the young mind of Albert Einstein. Along with, learning about science and inventions that were created by this mastermind of a man. I really love this book, the illustrations, and how it portrayed Albert Einstein. The book consists of a telling of Einstein's life and how much influence his thirst for knowledge impacted his life and his career. The book closes with an inspirational call to action about students and being inquisitive in the world that they live in. I believe that this is a fantastic book suited for younger readers, but may need some explanation on a few scientific terms (like density, gravity, magnesium, atoms, etc) depending on how advanced the reader is. I also really enjoyed the illustrations and how they contributed to the story. The illustrations aren't conventionally pleasing as other children's novels, but they do add a degree of charm and add to the unique moral that his biography brings. no reviews | add a review
