This is the first book in the series so sometimes i think you have to allow that it sets the scene for the future books. In this book Erin seeks help from Ivan, a scary, powerful man with mob connections.
I think the difference with this book to the rest in the series is that the couple meet, and fall for each other quickly, whereas in the other books, the characters have known each other for some time and for various reasons have resisted getting involved. If you take it at face value and believe in love at first site then this book sets the scene for a good series.
The writing flows and the plot is good, esp the druggie sister that has no easy solution and doesn't quickly overcome her problem.
This was good! very short but had most of this things I want from this sort of romance. Because it is so short, this does feel a bit insta-lovey. I didn't really mind that in this case but it's something to be aware of. The characters honestly weren't anything special but were interesting enough in this romance. I thought they were cute and there were some lines I really liked. There aren't too many sex scenes but I thought they were pretty good. Definitely a good fun romance for when you're look for something quick.
Erin turns to Ivan, hunky Russian alpha male with a dark past, to help her save her junkie sister.

Plot a little obvious. But this series I do believe is more about sexual chemistry than anything. It's basically 'mommy porn' but you know what...every so often every mommy needs a little escape and this provides just the right amount.

Will continue on the series seeing as I got them for free...what the heck, never know what 'tips' I might pick up on. ;)
I got this a bit on spec as it's a bit shorter than I like to read (a bit too quick to get through) but I decided to look on it as an introduction to a new series. Yeah.. I liked it. I considered it definitely worth the read even if the length meant that there wasn't really enough time for the author to delve too deep. I'll likely be picking up the rest of this particular series.

My review:

I loved this story. It had all the elements... Bad boy, heroine in need, bad guys chasing them... And a happy ending. I will be looking at the rest of Ms Rivera's books

This novella has a violent setting. I don't care for it and certainly don't find it romantic. Plus written in 1st person POV, which I almost always dislike.
