This book has a summary of Mozarts life in his first couple of years. It tells how he got his name shortened to Mozart- by his older sister. Tells how his family was full of musicians and how he was able to play for very important people at such a young age! ( )

On January 27, 1756, Christostomos Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart was born in Austria. His parents were thrilled because he was their seventh child but their second one to live. He received his name Wolferl by his sister because she couldn't say his full name. When he was an infant his father gave piano lessons. By the time he was 3 he could play by ear. When he was 4 he began to compose his own short pieces. One day his fathers dream finally cam true; the children go a special invitation from the empress Maria Theresa. She invited them to perform before her family at the castle Schonbrunn. Her and her family loved the performance. The Mozarts continued to perform in Vienna. Not long after, the weather became cold and nasty, with this Wolferl caught a cold, this was October 21st. He stayed in bed for about a month then he was able to travel again. ( )
