Gina Maxwell warned me it would happen, and I didn’t quite believe her. Her exact words were “Let me know when you’re completely lost to him. I’m told that happens.” Well y’all, she was right: I’m completely lost to Jackson Maris. Never mind that sometimes at the beginning I had flashes of Vanderpump Rules. Or that I don’t see myself attracted to large fighter types with ink… Except once again Gina L. Maxwell changed my mind on that, just as she did in Seducing Cinderella

And I also fell in love with Vanessa. She seems like the type of woman I want as a best friend. And she just seems so beautiful.. I was jealous of an imaginary woman.

All show more that aside, Gina L. Maxwell has lovingly crafted a touching, heart-pounding, seductive contemporary fairytale in Rules of Entanglement. I was hooked from the start. It took me a day and a half to read this because each time the characters were happy and sleeping, I felt my eyelids grow heavy and I fell to sleep… Two naps a bedtime and a middle of the night reading then back to sleep later, my heart is happy with the ending to this touching story.

Rules that keep you safe and protected but keep love and affection from touching you are not rules to live by! After all... aren't rules meant to be broken?

This the second book in the Fighting For Love series. This is the story of Vanessa and Jax. What begins as an impossible meeting of opposites quickly develops into a forever love affair.

Enjoyable read. Unforgettable characters, well developed plot in this well written book. Definitely would recommend this book for a pleasurable entertaining pass time.

Is it enough to say I loved this book? No, ok then. :)

Vanessa has to go to Hawaii to help plan the wedding of her best friend who is sick at that time. Her best friend's brother is supposed to pick her up from the airport but is late and when Jackson finally arrives he isn't even really sorry for it. Which pisses Vanessa royally off.
And the sparks begin to fly!

Jackson or 'Jax' is an MMA fighter and he lives a pretty carefree life on Hawaii. He is intrigued by Vanessa from the start because usually women just fall at his feet but Vanessa doesn't fall prey to his charm easily. She is quite reserved, controlled and sassy towards him and according to Jax needs to loosen up a bit.

In his quest to get her to know better he tells her a lie show more so that they have to pose as the bride and groom for the next couple of days. And that is the reason I gave "only" four stars. I just couldn't get on board with that. I didn't like the lying part and it felt too unbelievable to me.
Anyway, they eventually start an affair according to Vanessa's rules which Jackson wants to break and while doing this they fall in love with each other. They both open up to each other like they have never done with anyone else before. It was so sweet and heart-breaking to see that. Jackson is such a great hero. At first he might come across as a carefree bum but he is so thoughtful, sweet and funny (and let's not forget sexy!) and fiercely protective.

I really enjoyed this novel and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys sexy contemporaries with a to-die for hero. I haven't read the first book in this series yet, so I would say this can be read as a stand alone pretty well.

"Rules of Entanglement" by Gina L. Maxwell was the second series: 'Fighting for Love #2. This author gave the reader a captivating plot and well written dialog. Vanessa has rules that start with 'seven rules she's laid out for her future.' However, she meets Jackson (Jax) who has to pretend to be engaged to her and well things do turn 'serious sexy.' We will find from the read that Jax will break every rule that Vanessa has every made. Will Vanessa's walls start to tumbling down slowly? Will she "learn how to depend on someone for the first time and fell safe." This is show more where I say you must pick up "Rules of Entanglement" to find out how this story will come out. Will Jax come clean with Vanessa?

I enjoyed this fast, funny and hot steamy read that was even humorous at times. All of the characters were likable, colorful and well written to give the reader a awesome read. Would I recommend? YES! show less

Ms. Maxwell's first book Seducing Cinderella was a skyrocket straight to best seller. I have a feeling her second, Rules of Entanglement, will follow it's path. Lucie and Reid are the amazing couple introduced to us in her first book. We had glimpses of Jackson, Lucie's very protective brother, and some great girl time with Vanessa MacGregor , Lucie's best friend. Now we meet Vanessa and Jackson up close and personal.

The wedding of Lucie's dreams is being held at an exclusive hotel resort in Hawaii. Jax is an MMA fighter living there for the last several years, and with his " connections" they were able to reserve this amazing venue. Vanessa and Jax's first meeting is NOT a fortuitous one. He arrives an hour late with the excuse that he show more was surfing and lost track of the time. Vanessa thrives on rules, and has in fact a "Lucky Seven" she lives by. Jax has already broken rule #7.....Never take your responsibilities lightly. This novel is a classic example of opposites attract. Jax had to raise his little sister after his parents died unexpectedly and lived by the rules to keep her life safe and secure. When she went to college he moved to Hawaii, and fights, trains and surfs. No rules. Nessie having grown up in a dysfunctional home with her little sister, now needs the rules to keep her life on track.

Jax and Nessie have secrets they share with each other that draw them closer, and one giant secret Jax is keeping that may tear them apart. This novel has everything, laughter, very hot sex , conflict and a beautiful love story. This anxiously awaited second book in the Fighting For Love series, was definitely worth waiting for. It can be read as a stand alone, but the first in the series is such a joy to read I would recommend reading it to appreciate Lucie and Reid's road to their happily ever after.

I loved "Seducing Cinderella" and "Rules of Entanglement" was just as hot!
You don't have to read "Seducing Cinderella" first if you don't want to.
When Jacks and Vanessa first meet I was digging what a Bad Ass Vanessa was - knowing how Hot Jacks was she was not giving into his charm. Then after awhile I was getting annoyed a bit with Vanessa because she was fighting falling for Jacks so badly it is was ridiculous. Even know they seemed to be on track the way Jacks got her to spend time with him was breaking one of Vanessa rules. He has to make her see that her rules are meant to be broken for Love. Hot Hot Juicy Sex. Fabulous ending.

Jax's sister is marrying Vanessa's best friend. When these two are thrown together to help with some last minute arrangements for the wedding, they are both surprised by each other. Unable to fight it, they hook up. But Jax gets himself caught up in a lie and Vanessa finds herself breaking all of her personal rules for Jax. Will either of them be able to work past it.

Both characters were likable & the scenes were there, the chemistry was a little flat. Felt rushed. Nothing really hooked me where I was rooting for them though. It was a good book but not in the 5 star cat. for me.
