This one has a cute narrative voice, told from the perspective of a happy little hamster named Seymour content with his domesticated life. But the house cat convinces him there are wonders (mainly yogurt drops) beyond his cage, so Seymour plans to get out and investigate. The requisite wackiness ensues. A little predictable, but that was okay. Tim Bowers has some amazing artwork here, and I was with Seymour every step of the way just by looking at his facial expressions. A cute book that would be good for any child with (or wanting to get) a pet hamster. -Ryan, MML

Great format: love the Questions/Answers and the circular ending. Pearl (the big, fat liar) is a wonderful secondary character.
Goldfish was much cuter. This is a lame cliche, dressed up as a memoir to cash in on the popularity of the first. Sorry.
Great elementary school age story.
Hamster, Friendship,
Vivid illustrations, fun to read
