Aoife brings something different to the world of paranormal books. When Sarajanes mother goes missing, her and Josh, her best friend, search for her every Sunday. Everyone believes the worst but Sarajane feels her mother is still out there, so she keeps looking. While everyone is trying to act happy and move on there is still the heaviness of losing their mother/wife in the house. Josh has asked Sarajane to the ball, he wants to get her mind off her mother for a little while, and he also wants to confess his love to her. Things are about to change when a man Sarajane has never met comes up to her and asked her dance. Tristan has been sent to find Sarajane to bring her to where her mother has been all this time. Sarajane is about to show more discover, advanture, love, loss, and her destiny.

For me the beginning of the book was a little slow, but it picked up fast and I didn’t want to put it down. I think that Aoife did a great job on describing the world of Saskia and brought me right there beside Sarajane on her journey. There was a few times I was left wanting to know more about some characters but maybe that will come in the next book. Sarajane is a strong willed woman and will stop at nothing to save the people she loves. I think that is part of why I loved this book so much. I did want to smack the King up side the head a few times though, but I guess that is part of why he makes a good king.

A fantasy that keeps you reading, wondering and entertained. So much can be developed with fiction, but without characters you enjoy, the story never blossoms. Aoife keeps you entertained, and involved. It's a good read and you'll want to read the sequels to find out what else happens.
Writing a fantasy fiction can be so much fun, but still making it believable is a little bit harder than many think. You have to work hard on development of the characters to be sure that the reader understands, believes and can emotionally attach to what is happening to them. Aoife does work on that, but should have gone a little further to make the reader cheer for their success and cry for their loss with more definitive reactions to certain show more things.
Keeping the reader involved in the story is all about the characters and the movement of their lives. The theme of this book is not only interesting, it's entertaining, and believable, at least as much as fantasy can be. The story keeps moving, and it definitely creates pictures in your mind. I really do want to read the next book and see what happens. For her first book, I think it was done quite well, and subsequent ones should be even better.
What the main character learns would be shocking to most people, but she doesn't seem to react too much to it, which dampens your reaction. This leaves you wondering if you missed something that explained her calm reaction.
The book moves from one world to another, and one character's story to another, so sometimes you really start to feel like you are in the story understanding each person. But yet still trying to figure out the why of what happens keeps you reading.
Aoife did a good job of tying everything together though, allowing you to see the whole picture and yet from different views of the characters. Each character definitely had their personalities and you certainly knew what you liked and didn't like. So when some reactions missed the mark, you create your own idea of why and what happened to make them so. That's okay unless later in the story or sequel what happens changes everything you created. Then your whole ideas may leave you less than happy with the character and the story, hence the quest of defining the character and all their reactions in a full spectrum of disposition.
A huge plus is Aoife creates likable, even lovable characters that still have some flaws like a normal person. On the opposite side she creates some that you dislike, but still have something about them that makes you want them to see them come around to the good side.
All in all this was a great story, good characters, and a writing well done. I think everyone would enjoy this book and be anxious to read the sequels.

Alternate worlds, magic, romance, and fighting an ancient evil darkness. Combine all this in with a fantastic set of cultures, exciting adventure, and you've got the makings for a fantastic plot! This story has all that, and more, creating a captivating book full of surprises, twists and turns.

The characters filling up this book are all fun to read about. Most of them have paranormal abilities, and fascinating cultural dynamics, all coming together to create an exciting story. They each have secrets, desires, and dreams that unfold throughout the book. Mixing these things with some touching true-love romances, made these characters real and engaging.

While I did enjoy this story, it was difficult to read in some places. Whether it was show more the formatting from being published incorrectly, or lacked proper editing, it did take away from the reading experience. It is a good story though, and overall I enjoyed it. I'd recommend it to YA, NA and fantasy fans.

I received a signed copy of this book through a giveaway on FaceBook, and the following is my honest opinion for the book.

While the premise of parallel universes is not new, the way the author chooses to use the concept is. In the case of a Eden Forest by Aoife Marie Sheridan the parallel universe is Saskia and SaraJane is the link between it and back home on Earth.

On Earth SaraJane is a typical 21-year old. She has a job and one day after her mother disappears she gets whisked by Tristan to an unknown world where she discovers she is now a real life princess, and is the only one who can save Saskia from its fate.

Growing up on Earth SaraJane had no powers, but soon discovers she has magical ones now, like everyone else.

On Saskia she show more starts to discover herself through a journey which will take her through the unbelievable world she’s on now, which includes coming face to face with a father she never knew as a child.

The story which the author has written is pure fantasy, and has a romantic element in which SaraJane’s guardian has grabbed the attention of her heart. However, there a dark element present that wants to take this away from her.

The more SaraJane learns about the powers she now possesses, the more she learns it comes with a heavy price, as she’s being continuously tested. And she ultimately must ask herself a question no one wants to have to answer, the question concerning life and death itself, the question which deals with who will die and who will live.

The storyline, which begs the reader to read more and to turn each page to learn more, only could be present due to the skillful writing of Ms. Sheridan.

Eden Forest is the first part of the trilogy the author has concocted of which I’d love reading. But unfortunately, being a Book Reviewer, I don’t have the time or luxury of being able to read the rest of the books in this series. With that said, I’m giving this book 5 STARS.

5 of 5 stars

I truly LOVED this book! I give this one 4 1/2 STARS out 5. This is a beautifully written novel and I CANNOT wait for the sequel!

Eden Forest is a beautifully written and descriptively wonderful fantasy story. The story revolves around Sarajane, a normal girl from "our world" whose mother disappears without a trace. Sarajane's world changes drastically after her mothers disappearance and in comes my favorite character Tristan. He whisks Sarajane away to a world that is parallel to ours... called Saskia. Saskia is quite a change for Sarajane as compared to her own world. She finds herself at times overwhelmed by all that is different in this world and all that she must learn. In the process show more of this transformation, Sarajane learns that she is a princess and has magical abilities. She learns a lot about herself and her mother. I will not say anything more as to not give too much away, but you need to read this if you are a lover of YA, Fantasy,and/or Romance. I will say my favorite part of the book is the build up of Sarajane's and Tristan's relationship... I loved it and cannot wait to see where their story goes.

Aiofe Marie Sheridan is an amazing author who has an imaginative, descriptive, and beautiful writing style. I had not yet read any of her work and am so very glad that I did! She writes with full detail so that you can actually envision the story and feel like you have been drawn right into this alternate world! Her characters are amazing. There are some character's that you love and there are some character's that you love to hate. it is the perfect balance of character development. Great, amazing read and cannot wait to continue this story.

She soon finds a world she could never imagine was real when she is taken there. She steps into a world that everyone possesses magical abilities. She also finds a father that she never knew existed. If that wasn’t bad enough she is in a world that is beyond her belief with a darkness that wants to take it and a guardian that captures her heart. As she journeys through this new world she discovers her own magical powers and finds that they come with a price. Sarajane is tested when those that she loves are show more put at risk. She is also forced to answer a question she never wanted asked the ultimate question of who lives and who dies.

This is a wonderful start to a trilogy that pulls the reader into another world. A world with some things that are things that are the same as this world but the majority of the world is different. A world that comes to life as the reader learns more and more about this different world. It has action, suspense and some romance that makes for a very good read and will leave readers wanting more. While the story at times changes characters and places the reader is never left wonder what is happening when because each change is done in a way that moves well from character to character. The world building is interesting and at the same time it doesn’t leave the reader wondering what is what. This is a fantasy book that any reader would enjoy.
