Commitment
. That’s what I really want from Colin. Ever since my brother, Danny, died in Iraq, Colin’s done so much to help me, including giving me a job at his popular restaurant so I can leave my crappy waitressing job at the strip joint. But lying in bed with him every night to comfort him from his horrible nightmares isn’t enough anymore. I show more know he feels guilty about Danny’s death, about not going to Iraq, but I can’t keep living this double life.
I love him desperately, but he’s got so many demons, and if he can’t open up to me now, then he’ll never be the real partner I need him to be. I gave him a month, and now I’m out of here. If he truly loves me like he says, he knows where to find me. . . .

Three Broken Promises was one of my most anticipated books of 2013, and I loved it! Yes, I'm aware of my rating, I'll get to that in a second. From our glimpses of Jen and Colin in One Week Girlfriend and Second Chance Boyfriend, I knew their story was going to be a rough, emotional one. And I was right. They both have very traumatic pasts, that they haven't shared with anyone entirely. So, Three Broken Promises is the story of them dealing with their pasts and accepting that they do deserve a happy ending.

For quite a while Colin has been the one taking care of Jen, looking out for her, but now she's tired of being coddled and is looking to break out on her own. Well, you can just imagine how that goes over with he-man Colin. While, show more Colin is trying to figure out how to make Jen stay, Jen is trying to figure out how to make Colin stop resisting to their attraction. I will say that Colin did try to be as noble as possible, but in the end his dirty mouth, and passion for Jen won out. These two enter into a massive tug-o-war. Jen pushing for more, and Colin trying to keep her at arms lengths because he doesn't think he's worthy. It's a push and pull mess that almost drove me a little crazy until they finally gave in. And let me tell you Ms. Murphy drove up the heat index with these two. Colin has a penchant for dirty talk and Jen is right there to encourage him. What they can never admit is that it is their pasts holding them back. They both have pasts they're ashamed of and they can never fully move on until they put it behind them. Only one problem, while Jen is wholly accepting of Colin's past, he may not return the favor. 90% of the time I loved Colin to pieces. That other 10%, I just wanted to throttle him. But that isn't the only trial these two must face. They may have given into their desires but Jen is still planning on breaking free from Colin in the end. Three Broken Promises threw me for a loop a couple times and kept me guessing where it was going.

So this was a solid 4 stars for me. Until the end. I'm not saying I didn't love it, or that is was a cliffhanger. The only thing I'm going to say is that I was expecting a bit more and the ending was the only part that fell a bit flat to me. It seemed to wrap up too quickly. That being said, the rest of Three Broken Promises was exactly what I was hoping for in Jen and Colin's story. In addition to OWG, and SCB it rounds out this fantastic series so far and I can't wait to read more. Keeping true to this series, Three Broken Promises delivers a captivating story line, hotter than hot chemistry and emotions to boot. If you're a fan of the New Adult genre try it out, I'm positive you'll love it! ALSO, Drew + Fable have a new novella out as of yesterday so make sure to click on the link below for that as well. I've heard nothing but fantastic things so far!

Happy Reading!

I began Three Broken Promises knowing nothing of the Fable and Drew story. I was afraid that I was going to be a little lost but nope not lost at all. So even though this book is marked at #3 you can totally read it as a stand alone. With that being said I liked this book. Was it a lot of back and forth, push and pull between Colin and Jen? Yes there was a lot of that. But they were such complex characters that it all made sense. Jen’s character tried so hard to be strong and take care of herself but she just kept getting knocked down time and time again. And then every time she was knocked down Colin was there to pick her up. Which yes in the beginning it seemed he was doing it out of obligation but soon the feelings he was fighting show more started growing even bigger than he realized. In a way they are both very twisted in their thinking about what they deserve. All and all a good book, I personally think there is going to be a sequel but only time will tell.

So this is Colin and Jen´s story. In case you need a refresher, Colin is Fable´s boss, Jen is her friend and co-worker.

Colin and Jen are so different from Fable and Drew...but I enjoyed them just as much if not a little more. Jen has done things she isn´t proud of in her past, things she felt she needed to do in order to take care of herself. She beats herself up daily for the things she can not change. Afraid that if Colin knew the extent of her secrets that he wouldn´t care about her anymore. Which she can´t risk because she is in love with him and has been for a while. Tired of feeling like a helpless woman she decides to take care of herself. Move out of Colin´s show more and move away. She doesn´t want to keep staying there in love with him and have him be so oblivious. Can you blame a girl?

Colin is guilty. He let his best friend down and now he feels like he has also let Jen down. He promised Danny he would look after Jen and he has, except for that time when he didn´t. He wants her, but thinks she deserves better. But when she drops the moving bomb, he finally, FINALLY starts to get it.. Things between them is hot. They get each other more than they even realize or cared to admit.
Great read, I am glad they both started to get over their hangups. Colin´s guilt and Jen´s self loathing. I do want more of them and everyone else. I am glad there was some scenes that had either Drew or Fable in them too. I couldn´t put this book down!

I read this as a standalone. With that in said, I did enjoy this book. Lots of back & forth between Colin and Jen. Jen tried to hold her on but yet still needed Colin. And he was always there. Maybe at first more out of feeling obligated but later out of love. Two messed up people working through their problems to be together. Good read, would like to read all of the previous books in this series.

‰ÛÏI broken promises. To you, to your parents, to your brother. I don‰Ûªt want to break any more.‰Û

When the men in Monica‰Ûªs books love, they love hard. And when the women want it, they take it! Hell yeah!

This book does not have the sweet and easy love. This books love is hard, an angst, passionate, and AWE worthy. This is a book that defines the kind of man that is true. A man, in my opinion, who loves but will be forlorn due to man law and when there is a glitch in the man law, or a hot chick over rules it, then they think with the man-hood.

‰ÛÏI‰Ûªve waited this long; I‰Ûªm dying to see you fall apart.‰Û

‰ÛÏOpen your eyes,‰Û his deep voice commands. ‰ÛÏLook at me.‰Û

‰ÛÏI want you to know who‰Ûªs about to make you come‰Û

‰ÛÏYou‰Ûªre so hot. And wet.‰Û

‰ÛÏTell me what you want. Tell me what to do to take you there.‰Û

This story has some serious steam factors. Monica gives you the tease, gets you interested, turns it up a notch, gets you a little moist, and then it is electric and you need a towel to clean up. The imagination this author has and the fits she can lead my mind and body to, WOW.

That Colin, oh my, is one hot alpha male.

I really like Colin and Jen‰Ûªs characters.

They were the couple that should be but were not. They have this natural way with each other. Truly, the similarity and proximity of attraction, they have this down; they have known each other since potty breaks and nap times; and they are the angst of love.

Jen wants to be with Colin but can‰Ûªt. So she makes plans to leave, start her life over without him. (In a cocoon)
Colin wants to be with Jen but can‰Ûªt. So he lets her go. (Free like a butterfly)

But you want them together; you want the HEA, the ending of all endings.

I don‰Ûªt want to give away the story except to say: By reading this book you must know that love is not the only thing that can save you from yourself, sometimes it‰Ûªs the thing that is pushing you away.

Happy reading.

If the two previous books are like that then I don't want to read them. There was one big thing that I hated the most in the book. I never got the chance to see how good Jen and Colin were. To me it seemed as if there were avoiding their problems, had a hard time communicatiting with each other and that there was always a void between them. I didn't like that part. Jen was also too headstrong and stubborn.
