Hero Vincenzo (Enzu) Tomasi needs a wife. He has custody of his niece and nephew and he wants a family for them so they have a stable home life since they have no parents (Enzu’s brother died). He looks for applicants for this position and ends up considering a worker at his company, Audrey Miller, after she applies for the job. Eventually Enzu and Audrey get to know each other better and begin to fall for each other…
I liked Audrey, she was really a terrific sister to her brother Toby. He was gay and their parents kicked him out because of this. Audrey took Toby in and looked after him for years. (Her family rejected her for doing this and broke all ties with her.) I liked how Audrey stood up to the hero and let him know her show more thoughts on many subjects. Enzu was a good hero. He tried to do what was best for his young niece and nephew. I liked how he really admired Audrey. (He even compared her in looks and actions to legendary film star Audrey Hepburn many times.) I also liked the part when Enzu surprised Audrey by showing up at her brother's high school football game. Audrey and Enzu had good chemistry and it took way more than halfway through the book for the first sex scene, so there was a good buildup and lots of sexual tension. They also had a few things in common, like terrible parents. Christmas only took place in the last five pages of the book, so this is no Christmas romance.
Enjoyable read with a classy heroine and a thoughtful and sexy hero. show less

THUMBS UP TO MS MONROE FOR AN EXCELLENT STORY!! After reading the prologue I just knew I had to buy this book, and my oh my was it worth it!
It had everything I wanted, the emotion, tenderness, fire, passion! and a little bit of angst and uncertainty thrown in for good measure. OMG! I just loved it.. Like it was PERFECTION! And I don't say that lightly! Honestly.. I felt like it played out nicely. So happy I purchased this book
I haven't enjoyed a Harlequin book in so long and this was a masterpiece. The H was just perfect, no blackmailing, a being rude or mean. His moment of vulnerability "Who has loved me for me?" broke my heart!

- For my niece Hanna, because you are a big part of my holiday magic. Thank you for helping me and Isabelle decorate for Christmas and especially for your patience and creativity in decorating my "Mr. Monk" color-coordinated, e... (show all)very ornament evenly spaced tree each year. Few teenagers would be nearly so accepting of my OCD tendencies. Your parents raised you right and I'm in awe of what a lovely and strong young woman you truly are. Love you!
And with a special hug for all the teens that find themselves scrambling for a place to sleep this holiday season. It is my sincerest hope you find warmth and safety wrapped in holiday joy. That as my husband and I have opened our home to some, so might others open theirs to you. Blessings and love! - First words
