What a BLAST of a good summer time this book turned out to be! If you are looking for the perfect summer or beach themed read, then this book needs to be at the top of your list. I just couldn't get enough of this one and Dragos and Pia just had me laughing all over the place. We see Dragos and Pia becoming new parents and have a infant son but what surprises them is that he is starting to shift into a baby dragon and we get to see a POV from the baby and it was FIRE!!! I don't think that I have ever seen that in a romance before and it just had a refreshing feel seeing life through his eyes and how he is looking at things, it was quite different. I loved seeing them searching for treasure as a family, there were blends of some show more danger here and there, and the LAUGHS were so infectious. I loved the adventure that their son gave them and he is only a baby lol And seeing the parenting styles of Dragos and Pia just worked so well. Poor Pia though, some of the scares that she goes through this book was endearing and just hilarious in so many ways. But she just goes with it, and you just know that she is going to be the BEST of mama's. I can't wait to see this little boy grow in the rest of the series.

Overall this book delivered on all scores and I couldn't get enough of the charm and laughs and adventures!!!!

Thea Harrison’s Elder Races series takes familiar romance and paranormal tropes to a level unparalleled in the genre, and DRAGOS TAKES A HOLIDAY is a great example of her prowess. This story shows us a glimpse behind the Happily-Ever-After curtain, after Pia marries the powerful, sexy billionaire, after her child is born, after her ordinary life is exposed to the limelight. This story takes place after all of the familiar “end of story” bookmarkers, yet the continuing romance of Pia and Dragos is as nuanced, electric, and entertaining as ever.

Though I love the paranormal details sprinkled throughout this story, like the challenges of raising a shifter toddler or Dragos using his magic to show more search for treasure, at it’s heart this story is about young parents and the reality of life after marry the ultra-rich, famous heartthrob of your dreams. Pia’s relationship with the greater shifter community is hampered by the need to keep her nature secret. With the introduction of the Peanut, her precocious, powerful son, those secrets look like they’ll be harder and harder to keep. I found myself at the edge of my seat, imagining not only how this young family will grow and change, but also how Pia’s relationship with her peers will develop. All of her secrets are interwoven through Liam’s nature, how can they remain hidden?

There are a few authors who offer novellas that are as intriguing and satisfying as their full length novels. Patricia Briggs, Meljean Brook, and Ilona Andrews all come to mind in this category. With this novella, Thea Harrison joins this list, offering a satisfying glimpse of the Elder Races world and whetting my appetite for the next full length novel. KINKED may tide me over for a bit, another re-read will also buy me some time, but eventually, nothing but Elder Races #7 will satisfy me.

If your a fan of the Elder Race series you will love this in-site into Pia, Dragos and Liam aka Peanut’s life. Thea Harrison has turned a Treasure Hunt into a great adventure that comes with Pirates and a child with many surprises in-store for his parents. Thea packs a lot into her novella and gives the reader the opportunity to see why you never mess with Dragos family.

Pia and Dragos are a cute couple, a team and they show everyone how incredible their relationship is. They complement each other and after a year of many upheavals and chalenges they are getting a much needed vacation. Date night for the new parents was wonderful to see. You can feel the connection between Pia and Dragos. The sex scene's are sensual show more and very well done. They set the sheets on fire. I am a fan of the Elder Race series and enjoyed going into their lives and seeing them and little Peanut.

"As their gazes connected, all light banter fell away, leaving something pure and naked, a shock of connection that reverberated through both mind and body. As she started into his intent gold eyes, the rest of the world fell away. she was fought in a beguilement that would never end, and she would go anywhere with him, do anything for him. she loved him so much, she couldn’t breath."

Liam aka Peanut is a joy and ever since he has shown up in this series he’s had fan’s wrapped around his little claws. He is surprising everyone with his advanced development that the new parents are not prepared for. It’s a real treat to be seeing things from his perspective. I especially enjoy the child's logic for example: “Daddy had said No, but that had happened quite a while ago. Surely by now No had turned into a Yes.” We can all relate!

Dragos Takes a Holiday is so much fun! I want more from this family and all the wonderful exciting characters in the Elder Race series.

I never knew why it had a bodice-ripper cover. Just because it have Dragos in its title? Its a story about a dragon and a unicorn with their kid on a holiday for a treasure hunting session in the Caribbean. The cover should have a baby dragon in it because Liam owned this book. If you haven't follow the Elder Races' series, basically it started around the aftermath of "Kinked". Dragos lost two of his sentinels to their mates which didn't help with the workload and the demesne suffered some trade embargo from the elven demesne which then was resolved with a war against the Numenlaur elves where they became enthralled by an ancient elf who hold a God Machine. Now that his sentinels were all peachy right after "Kinked", Pia wanted Dragos show more to have some time off from governing the Wyr demesne and need help in figuring out how to raise a dragon child together.

Its a short novella with some plot thought out but the main focus was the characterization between the dragon's family which their story was still ongoing from the first book. In this story, we finally had some variety with the added light faes and dwarf characters. This time we had the story of the light fae demesne when they migrated from Europe and I guess from the hints, I know what the next novel will be about.
This book was just plain adorable because Liam has his own POVs in it. A several month old child's POVs, can you believe it? It was like reading Baby's Days Out with the baby shape-shifting into a dragon-unicorn hybrid. Liam adoring his parents. Liam trying to crawl. Liam trying to fly. Liam with his bunny. Liam getting into trouble with the bad guys. Liam's Days Out, I want more of that. Please?

Best one to date. It was hot, sweet, funny and oh so cute!
I live how we got to see Pia and Dragos in a more normal and domestic setting, and the parts of the story from Liam/Peanut's point of view were so cute and entertaining. Keeping up with a smart and skillfull baby dragon proves to be quite a challenge, even for his parents
I actually read ahead quite a bit in the series to read this for the Beach Party Read-a-thon of the #COYER Challenge but it is not really necessary for the story to have read more than the first couple of books. There are side characters I hadn't met before, but their backstory is not part of this, so it didn't seem to me like there were many spoilers if you read this out of sequence.

What does a dragon do for a relaxing vacation? Search for treasure of course! This is a fast and fun addition to the Elder Races world in which we get to see Pia skillfully manipulate Dragos in the direction she wants to go (for his own good), and get to enjoy the antics of a magical baby discovering his powers, you know, because a human baby isn't enough show more of a challenge all on his own!

If you want a quick and eventful jaunt to Bermuda, try this on for size! Dragos is such a fun alpha male character who is so easily steered by Pia, and pretty predictable in his alphaness, but that's what makes him such a good read! When you're the top of the food chain, your challenges are a little different than everyone else's!

#COYER Scavenget Hunt #37 - Read a book with water/or the ocean on the cover.

Dragos Cuelebre needs a vacation and Pia works her magic to make that happen. This wonderful novella is full of love and harm hearted charm of a loving couple with their baby dragon on vacation.

I loved a dragon taking a treasure hunting vacation, even if some bad guys tried to ruin it. No one messes with the leader of the Wyr demesne.

Baby Liam, aka Peanut, just stole the show with his cuteness and charm and ability to get into mischief. I love baby Liam and look forward to watching him grew up in this series."
