Love in Touch by Lucy May Lennox was a truly unique love story. I have never read anything quite like it. Jake is deafblind, meaning he is both deaf and blind and in his case he as been this way since birth. Kassie is a young woman who is kind of floundering in life. She has a job she dislikes and is still missing the father she lost a few years before. She is also learning ASL - American Sign Language in night school. She is just interested in it and doesn't really have any ambitions related to learning it. She goes to a deafblind meet up and is drawn to Jake who is sitting off by himself. This first meeting leads to the next and grows to love.

I really enjoyed this story. I thought it flowed well and I also thought it was very show more realistic even though I do not know much about the deafblind population other than Helen Keller. It boggles my mind how someone like Helen Keller or the fictional Jake could overcome such a disability, but it is more than possible.

I wasn't really a fan of Kassie's roommate Erik at first, but he redeemed himself. I also dislike the cover. I would never buy this book based on the cover, but I'm glad I gave it a chance due to some well placed recommendations. 4 stars.

Love In Touch is a poignant and touching story about two people who don't let barriers stand in the way of their love for each other. Author Lucy May Lennox weaves a heartwarming tale about finding love and overcoming communication barriers that will tug at your heart and soul.

This is a beautiful love story that follows Kassie and Jake as they discover a way to overcome the barriers of communication and societal obstacles to build an amazing relationship. You can't help but get drawn into Kassie and Jake's story, they are real people who find love with emotion and passion, who have the patience and determination to step out of their comfort zone and lean on each other. Kassie is a caring and sensitive girl who doesn't let the show more communication barrier or societal doubts to interfere with her getting to know and encourage Jake to face the challenges in their relationship. Jake is simply amazing, I loved how he had the courage to face his fears and the challenges from his disability, and successfully overcome them with determination and amazing grace. Their connection and ability to lean on each other and discover love was simply inspirational and emotionally satisfying.

I appreciate the author providing the reader with a well-researched and educational insight into what it is like for a person with blind-deaf disabilities, and how people can overcome the barriers and obstacles by learning to use the different tools available to communicate, so that they can have a wonderful relationship with each other.

Love In Touch is an eye-opening, powerful, and compelling real-life love story that is emotional and inspirational. This is a story that will make you smile, it will resonate with you for a very long time.
