After reading [b:What is Anthropology?|824952|What is Anthropology?|Thomas Hylland Eriksen|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1316133887s/824952.jpg|810715] as an introduction to anthropology, this second book helped me explore social anthropology in more detail. The first three chapters cover the history of anthropology and other general aspects, the remainder covers detailed information about different aspects of social anthropology.

Starting with the individual and going from local organization to society as a whole, all aspects of human interactions are dealt with and plenty of examples keep the information lively and interesting. This is an excellent read once you've covered the basics and want to know more about the wider implications of looking at social anthropology across national and international borders.
