Description
Two seasoned operatives finally meet their match: each other.Cillian works for the mysterious Special Branch 20: an organization that runs black ops commissioned by the British government. His specialty is deep undercover assignments with virtually no support. He's been alone for so long that he no longer knows anything else.
Mal's also used to being alone. Wanted in several states and even more countries, he's not allowed in the vicinity of any of his former Navy SEAL teammates. And his show more current assignment is to track Cillian in order to discover the spook's endgame. Except he's no longer sure which one of them is getting played.
Cillian isn't about to let the mission that's consumed him for the past several years crumble because an outsider is poking around where he doesn't belong. But Mal forces his way through Cillian's defenses—and into his heart—exposing a devastating betrayal that could destroy them both.

Mal?
Cillian?
I...
I...
FUCKING NEED IT!!!!!!!
(My reaction when I first read Mal and Cillian were going to be a couple.)
Dirty Deeds, book #1 from the Dirty Deeds series by SE Jakes is a action-packed, erotic-filled, mind-bending suspense novella featuring two secondary characters from the Hell or Highwater & EE Ltd series. For those readers who have been following along with those books, do not fear for Tom and Prophet...Mal and Cillian have the makings to be their own force field. Oh my, my, my!
It's a battle of spy vs. spy in Amsterdam.
But instead of this being a one trick show more pony by carrying on the same mystery from Hell or Highwater, Dirty Deeds flipped it with two spies who don't know when to quit, are rough around the edges and though they might not see it yet are two sides of the same damaged coin. For less than 100 pages, is it worth reading? Hell yes. We are given glimpses of both Mal's and Cillian's background (you are never going to guess, I didn't). I was left wanting more but not unsatisfied with what I learned.
This book delivered:
Smart asses with smart ass dialogue? Check!
Hot dirty talk including dick pics? Super huge CHECK!
Hot rough sex in public? SUPER DUPER CHECK! (I would love to be a fly on the wall in this club in Amsterdam, just saying)
This story has key elements for a bang-tastic little number but don't think this is PWP. No way, folks. This story has a great plot that unfolds at an entertaining pace. Not all of the questions are answered. Do know that John...the bad guy from the other series, hovers heavily throughout the story. Why? I am not spoiling for you.We also get a few scenes of my snarky pal Prophet and Tom being themselves and awesome. And Mal is also trying to win for being the snarkiest spy of the world title, Prophet needs to be on the look out. No wonder they are such good friends.
Would I categorize this book as romance? Not necessarily. This is not a fluffy book. No sugar or insta-love-you's here. This is a dirty book with hot rough sex, dirtier talk and sexting through IM. Cillian and Mal have not trusted people for so long that it will be a rough road ahead for these two ever getting it together for a relationship. We get slices of the true men inside their worlds of lies and I love those slices.
Do you need to read Jakes' previous work prior to reading Dirty Deeds? No but I think you should. Why? Yes, we learn some background for both Mal and Cillian in Dirty Deeds but the glimpses we get in Hell or Highwater series of both secondary characters are just as delicious. You will fully get why this pairing is so wonderful.
The ending is a cliffhanger of sorts. It ended at the right moment and I am anxious for the next book in the series (which will be full length, thank goodness) because Mal & Cillian are definitely major contenders for a novel. SE Jakes stepped up with her game. I've been reading her books from the beginning - I'm impressed with Dirty Deeds. This series definitely started on the right note.

“Letting me know your email address. Big step. Sure you're ready for that kind of commitment?""I'm pretty sure I want you to shut up and open your ass for me.”

Original review--March 12, 2014:
This was just the type of book I needed. Recently, I've gotten bored of the same old type of story, so this brutal world of spies and revenge, which was portrayed so well by SE Jakes, was the perfect puzzle piece to fit my mood. It jumps right into the action, and slowly lets trickles of the back history connecting the characters into the narrative, revealing some things that I did not expect. It is a very quick read that does so well to immerse you in their world and personalities, where you understand their motivations and really can't begrudge their lifestyles--including the promiscuity, the murdering, the manipulation, and all else.
I liked both Cillian and Mal, how they have so many faces, but are show more much deeper and convoluted (and maybe somewhat good) people than you might think in the beginning. Now that the cards are on the table (oh, it has such a great ending, closing with a bang), I am waiting with bated breath for the sequel. Five stars, because this is a book that will draw you in, immerse you in many emotions and excitement, and leave you thirsting for the next part. Do yourself a favor and read it.
Update--September 29, 2014:
I really want to reread this asap! I just finished Long Time Gone and now I actually get all of the connections I missed while reading this nine months ago. I've been thinking about this book a lot (I actually like it more than Proph and Tom's story) and I cannot f*cking wait to read more. I'm also adding this to my "favorites" shelf. I want, I need, I crave more! show less

4.5 stars.
In 94 deliciously sexy pages, SE Jakes delivers a scorching hot story that is full of intrigue, mystery and a bombshell so shocking I am still reeling! Dirty Deeds is the much anticipated novella that fans of the Hell or High Water series have been clamoring for. It is super sexy yet highly secretive Cillian's story and the pairing of him with the equally enigmatic Mal is BRILLIANT!
If you are regular reader of Ms. Jakes' novels, then you are no stranger to either Mal or Cillian. Both have had cameo appearances in previous works and the glimpses of them have been quite tantalizing. The most obvious common denominator between them is Prophet Drews. Mal is one of Prophet's SEAL teammates and Cillian is Prophet's downstairs' show more neighbor. What brings these two men together in this explosive story is the fact that they are both pursuing John Morse. While Mal's reason for chasing John is crystal clear, Cillian's reason remains shrouded in mystery.
Mal and Cillian are damaged by their pasts and they keep an emotional distance from everyone around them. These two are Alpha males and the struggle for control is on right from their first encounter. Their contact is mainly through instant messaging but that anonymity works in their favor. What begins as some seriously smoking hot sexting leads to an unexpected emotional connection by both men.
In between the sexy by play, a major drama is unfolding as the hunt for John Morse intensifies. Mal and Cillian are hiding plenty of secrets but one of the revelations at the end of Dirty Deeds is absolutely shocking. SE Jakes masterfully delivers a wicked cliffhanger that is guaranteed to stun readers and leave them very impatiently awaiting the next installment in the Dirty Deeds series. show less

I don't know how else to describe the story but as hot and intense. There's no easing into anything, it's full throttle from the get go, and it doesn't ever ease, not even after the final full stop.
I was very curious about Mal from when I shortly met him in the Hell or High Water books, and I really needed Cillian to stop flirting with Proph, so this sounded perfect. And it was. The secrets, the suspense, and the sex made it impossible to put down.
The ending... WHY?! I feel like I just got a slap on the wrists and was told to go stand in the corner with my back to the room. Jakes is a cruel woman for ending it like that when the next book isn't released until next year.
Simply, loved it. Need more. Need Mal and Cillian in the same room show more now that Cillian too knows who Mal is, and he knows what he did to him. I bet they're more explosive than Tommy and Proph because they kinda already were. That's some seriously hot IMing. show less

Cillian is an operative for a deep agency in the government. He is looking for a man who betrayed his SEAL team. Mal is an ex-SEAL also looking for the same man. They meet in a club and, unknown to Cillian, Mal has been following him. Why? What happens if the truth comes out?
I loved this book. It is hot as Cillian and Mal IM each other revealing secrets and desires. It's hot when they meet in the club. I like them both, but I never saw the ending coming. Saying I was shocked is an understatement. I'm not sure if the ending is a cliffhanger or not. I will have to find the rest of the books in the series. I have to know what is going on.

Cillian is a black ops agent for the British government. Deep undercover he runs his ops mostly alone. Mal is a former Navy SEAL looking for the traitor of his former unit. When Mal discovers Cillian is hot on John Morse’s trail he doesn’t know if Cillian is for or against John. All Mal knows is that John must die and anyone who’s in bed with him, too. However, he didn’t expect to start falling for Cillian and Cillian didn’t expect to fall for Mal. When you’re deep in an op starting a relationship is not the smartest thing to do, but Mal and Cillian are used to playing with fire. The question is whether they will get burned and if so, will they show more live to love another day?
I was completely lost starting this story. The plot is convoluted and I had a hard time following it. There’s a lot of techie computer stuff that’s a bit out of my league, too, but the m/m steamy bits were more than worth pushing forward. Computer sex and hot hard sex in a club back room are all well-done and fan-worthy. *fans self vigorously* As the story moves along some things become more clear, but there’s not as much depth as I would hope and I blame the shortness of the book for that. However, that ending! A holy shit moment for them both and then a cliffhanger. Gah! If you are not a fan of cliffhangers then I suggest waiting until the next book is out or the series is complete. Otherwise, this is a tension-filled thriller with plenty of steamy action that will keep you on your toes. show less

This is another spin-off of the Hell or High Water series. It's one of those you either love or hate I think. I very firmly fall on the side of loving it.
There are very strong, interesting characters. Men who live and play hard. Dangerous, mysterious and flawed, they've drawn me in and won't let me go.
This book definitely needs to be read in conjunction with the above mentioned series. As a stand-alone it really doesn't work. But it's a delicious addition to the total. Now I just need to curb my impatience, waiting for the next installment!
