A brilliantly compelling read!--Perkins, Amazon Reviewer ????? It is extremely compelling and I could not stop reading, this book is pure escapism and would make a brilliant film or mini series. I found it completely different to the usual thrillers that I read, but I really enjoyed it and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.--A L H, Amazon Reviewer ????? This is an exciting book that will definitely take you out of your ordinary, day-to-day routine.--Linda Brooks, Amazon Reviewer ????? show lessTags

I could not put it down! I read it in one day (finishing waaaay too late at night!) - it's a "hate yourself in the morning" book. So compelling, I just had to know what happened next. In some ways I could so identify with Yvette (sahm who feels overwhelmed by the endless cycle of dishes, laundry, and homework) but in others (her family history) I had no frame of reference and found it fascinating. I won't spoil the book for you, but I will recommend it if you are looking for something you can't put down.
Warning: This book is full of adult themes: abuse, adultery, murder, etc. so reader beware (there's no actual bedroom scene or super violent scene, but the language is rough and the themes are tough)

Intriguing mystery
Not fantastic, but an intriguing novel with some interesting twists. Wildly implausible, but compelling enough to keep the reader involved.

So I really enjoyed this one much more than I expected to. It was a easy ready, plenty of intrigue to keep the pages turning and a few twists though nothing completely unexpected in hindsight. Will have to check out other books by this author.
The single star rating arises entirely from the format of the ebook and is no comment on the quality of the writing. I could not abide the PDF version from Google Play; full pages are too small to read comfortably and there is no way to reflow the text. I abandoned the book after a few chapters despite its interesting premise.
This is an emotional roller coaster book. Mona's story is fast paced. But Yvette's was slow until she joins forces with Mona to protect her family. Be ready for a surprise ending.
A very good book. It keep be reading until I finished the book.
