Portia Da Costa wrote The Stranger - an erotic novel published by Black Lace which is unofficially part of the continuity of Doctor Who novels published by the BBC. As such I had to have it to complete my collection. I'm reading the books gradually, in order, and I haven't read it yet.

I decided I might as well order something else by the same author and I chose this book for its sci-fi-sounding title. It isn't sci-fi.

This book is the story of a woman's exploration of sexual submission/masochism. Much of the 'action' isn't what I'd call 'erotic', but I did read it to the end and for a book of this type I guess it is well written, though the identity of a central character (secret until the final chapter) seemed obvious to me from the outset.
