Loading... Whose Shoes?by Anna Grossnickle Hines
![]() None No current Talk conversations about this book. ![]() ![]() I have a weakness for cute little mice in picture books, but this is a great storytime choice even without my bias. A little girl mouse tries on everyone's shoes in turn one day. After reveling in the noises each pair of shoes makes, she asks the reader whose shoes she's wearing and a gatefold opens up to reveal the answer. LeUyen Pham's gentle, but energetic watercolor and pen-and-ink illustrations show an exuberant mousechild surrounded by her loving family. Lots of whitespace around the unframed, simply-composed illustrations that feature everyday household items combine with the relatively short text to make this a good choice for younger storytime groups. The guessing game definitely works better with the preschool group than with the toddlers though. The more of Pham's illustrations I see, the bigger a fan I become. Used for Shine Those Shoes Storytime - Terrific Ts and Preschool 5/4/10 and Family 5/6/10. no reviews | add a review
