This was my first Joe DeMarco novel and it surely won't be my last. Mike Lawson has a style of writing that grabs your mind, this intense thriller keeps you flipping the pages, with characters that seem too come flying off the pages.
Joe DeMarco finally learns who killed his mob-enforcer father, then jeopardizes his job and his life trying to do something about it. Lots of flailing around.
This series has been coasting for a while now. I'm not giving up on it, but I don't eagerly await every new book, either.

20 years after his gangster father was murdered, a man discovers who killed him and plots his revenge. Although this is my first book by this author, I guess this is a recurring character. It isn't really a detective story; he doesn't do much sleuthing. It's not a legal thriller; there's no courtroom shenanigans. It's more just a story of a guy trying to get revenge for the death of his father and not get caught. I picked it up for Kindle and it was a quick, uneventful read.
