Magdalena Sinkovec compiled a unique international cookbook from the contributions of ethnic recipes prepared by ladies, mostly present and former Ambassadresses, one Ambassador, one former First Lady and a friend, from the now 26 NATO nations to celebrate the 2004 NATO enlargement with Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. Politics and cuisine are not far apart. There is food for thought, things are either on the front or the back burner, texts are watered down, crises are simmering, there are half-baked theories, situations turn sour, things are cooked up and eventually they boil down. And this cookbook represents both a melting pot of great culinary tradition as well as a treasure of cultural diversity, something that adds tremendously to the strength and vitality of NATO.
