This book is about Mouse who makes cookies but falls asleep and burns them. He then makes more, enough to make a pile as tall as his kitchen. He then shares some with his friend. I liked this book for two reasons. First, the illustrations add humor to the book. For example, Mouse wears an apron that reads, "I'M THE BOSS." Without directly stating that Mouse is sassy, you can determine this from the drawings. Second, I liked the organization of the text. One page reads, "He adds flour, salt,..." the text is indented a couple spaces, "...and a little music." This separation of text adds an element of suspense as the reader pauses in between. The big idea of this book is when you mess up, try again and always share with your friends.
This was my first time reading this book and I really enjoyed it for a few different reasons. The first reason that I enjoyed this book is because I like the characters that were used in the story. Since I had already read the story, "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie," I had already met mouse and was happy to see that he acted the same in this book. I believe that the character was well developed and I felt that it made the readers excited to read the book since they already recognized the character. Another reason that I liked this book was because of the illustrations. I felt that the illustrations were not only very fitting to the written text but they also enhanced the story. Since the story is about a mouse, it was helpful to readers show more to see all of the illustrations in perspective to the size of the mouse. In my opinion, I believe that the overall message of the story is that even if you have a large amount of something you really like, you won't be able to fully enjoy it unless you have someone to share it with. show less
This was a fun book about a Mouse who loves to bake cookies. I appreciated this book because of it's message on friendship; The mouse who was baking cookies made plenty of extras, but, as was stated in the book, "the best cookie is one shared with friends." I also like this book for another message that it sends; at one point after Mouse has put a batch of cookies in the oven, he decided to take a nap. Sleeping and cooking don't typically work well when combined, and his cookies end up burned to a crisp. Mouse, however, doesn't let this bother him at all, and simply shrugs off this "failure" and gets started on another batch.

This book teaches the value of friendship and sharing, which is a great message.
I love this book because it teaches the children to never give up and always to again when they fail.
I thought this book was a cute book because of the well-developed characteristics of the little mouse. For example he was working hard on baking his cookies that he became tired and needed a rest. Even though those cookies burned, he got up and worked hard again on the next batches. Because of his hard work, he was rewarded with a lot of cookies! The central message of this book is that hard-work pays off. Students can be inspired to work hard! The illustrations show great emotion on the mouse which allows the reader to be fully engaged in all aspects of the book.
I love this board book! It's simple and colorful. It takes you through Mouse mixing batter and making cookies and burning cookies and sharing cookies with his best friend. It's a cute, simple book, and I think it's great.
This book is another one of Laura Numeroff's cute little tales to go along with If You Give A Mouse A Cookie. In this book however, the mouse already ate the cookies, he is now baking them. The mouse forgets to take them out of the oven, adds too much flower, and other things that can go wrong when baking cookies. This book is very predictable especially if you read the first book.
