Madame le Commissaire und der verschwundene Engländer

I read volumes two and four of this series a few years ago and have now decided to start from the beginning with this series.
This is the first volume of the Isabelle Bonnet series and gave me a lot of insight into the protagonists who will also play a role in the upcoming books. Isabelle has actually travelled to the south of France to recover from a bomb attack. She is actually the head of a secret special unit in Paris. But the peace and quiet soon comes to an end when a rich Englishman disappears from his villa and then a woman's body is found on the beach in Saint-Tropez. Isabelle Bonnet is persuaded to take on the case (demoted to inspector and equipped with a false CV) - which doesn't exactly spark enthusiasm among her local show more colleagues, as there are still a lot of prejudices in the Provence province. However, she is given an unexpectedly resourceful assistant in the form of a ditzy-looking police archivist. What was the mysterious Englishman doing in Provence? And the mysteries from Isabelle's own past, the accidental death of her parents, also urgently need to be solved.
It was an enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to the next volumes. show less

Piacevole e simpatico, ambientato in luoghi bellissimi e che amo molto, è l’inizio di una nuova serie con protagonista una commissaria che, fino a poco tempo prima, ha svolto ben altri incarichi con mansione ben differenti. Ad affiancarla un agente, Apollinaire, decisamente particolare e speciale, dall’intuito pronto e che si dimostra ben diverso da come si presenta.
Una prostituta uccisa e un inglese gravemente ferito sono il punto di partenza di un’indagine che si rivelerà difficile e complessa oltre che piena di sorprese. A lato anche l’indagine personale condotta dai Madame le Commissaire che vuole far finalmente luce sulla morte dei suoi genitori avvenuta quando lei era ancora una ragazzina.
Ben scritto e costruito con show more personaggi ben caratterizzati e anche molto simpatici, si legge con piacere e ti immerge in ambienti e luoghi descritti con molta precisione e tanto amore. Una serie che continuerò a leggere.
