Kildahl analyzes the type of personality that would engage in speaking in tongues and concludes that it involves a certain openness to suggestion. Thirty years after reading the study, I have more agreement with the thesis than I did when I read it. However, Kildahl is missing the linguistic aspects of the phenomenon, so don't read this book and think it's the whole story.
