Description

Immediately after checking into the Kurosaki Clinic with a mysterious scar on his back, the muscle-bound Chad goes AWOL. Accompanying Chad is a talking parakeet imbued with the soul of a young boy named Yuichi. It doesn't take newbie Soul Reaper Ichigo Kurosaki long to surmise that a Hollow must be involved. Ichigo is about to sidcover that not every soul is bound for the Soul Society, especially if it's tainted with innocent blood.

I had a difficult time reading Bleach 2 (Goodbye Parakeet, Goodnight My Sister) because Harriet has become completely fascinated with the artwork. Any time I tried to read this manga in her presence she would find a way to snatch it out of my hand to "read" it herself.

Bleach 2 brings in more characters into the mix. First is Chad, the big smart "thug" of the school who has a huge heart and spirit power of his own. He befriends a cursed parakeet because he's the only one strong enough to survive all the bad luck that follows owning the bird. Of course the bad luck turns out to be a hollow but Chad holds his own.

The second half brings Ichigo and Rukia closer together as partners. What should be an "easy" way for Ichigo to control how and show more when he leaves his body ends up leading to a funny and embarrassing day of mistaken identity. show less
This was a really fun volume to read. I loved how the character is developing his power and needto help others above himself.

Bleach Vol 2 continues the story of Ichigo Kurosaki, a Soul Reaper, hunting evil spirits called 'Hollows' that eat the souls of humans who have psychic energy.

The Bad Stuff: Hmmm... I think there was a crease in one of the pages.

The Good Stuff: Manga, Manga, Manga, what's not to like? And Tite Kubo gives us some of the best Manga you can read. As with volume 1, I loved the illustration and the wit, the characters provide some good banter that makes you laugh. Everything you would expect from a Manga title.

Vol 2 builds on the series, only 19 left to go. I’m giving it 4 out of 5 Golden bookmarks.
Still good, but I really hope it becomes more than a monster-of-the-week series.
This series is great. i prefer to read deathnote over this because this just jumps right into the the action straight off the bat. I do like this series though. Maybe there is someone that would like jumping straight into the action!
I really recommend this series. A teenage boy helps direct souls in the afterlife to soul society where they can live peacefully. Only Hollows (corrupted souls) get in the way and even harm innocent souls. Ichigo relies on friends and family to fight for what is right.
