Days of Love chronicles more than 700 LGBT couples throughout history, spanning 2000 years from Alexander the Great to the most recent winner of a Lambda Literary Award. Many of the contemporary couples share their stories on how they met and fell in love, as well as photos from when they married or of their families. Included are professional portraits by Robert Giard and Stathis Orphanos, paintings by John Singer Sargent and Giovanni Boldini, and photographs by Frances Benjamin Johnson, Arnold Genthe, and Carl Van Vechten among others. "It's wonderful. Laying it out chronologically is inspired, offering a solid GLBT history. I kept learning things. I love the decision to include couples broken by death. It makes clear how important love is, as well as showing what people have been through. The layout and photos look terrific." Christopher Bram"I couldn't resist clicking through every page. I never realized the scope of the book would cover centuries! I know that it will be hugely validating to young, newly-emerging LGBT kids and be reassured that they really can have a secure, respected place in the world as their futures unfold." Howard Cruse"This international history-and-photo book, featuring 100s of detailed bios of some of the most forward-moving gay persons in history, is sure to be one of those bestsellers that gay folk will enjoy for years to come as reference and research that is filled with facts and fun." Jack Fritscher- Winner in the LGBT Non-Fiction Category of the 3rd Annual Beverly Hills International Book Awards- Silver Medal in the Non-Fiction - Gay/Lesbian/LGBT category of the 2015 Global Ebook Awards- Silver Medal in the Non-Fiction - Cultural category of the 2015 Readers' Favorite Book Reviews and Awards Contest- Finalist in the GLBT Category of the 2015 Next Generation Indie Book Awards- Finalist in the LGBT Non Fiction Category of the 9th Annual National Indie Excellence Awards- Finalist in the Gay & Lesbian Non Fiction Category of the 6th Annual International Books Awards- Finalist in the Gay & Lesbian Non Fiction Category of the 2015 USA Best Books Awards- Honorable Mention in the Gay Category of the 2015 San Francisco Book Festival- Honorable Mention in the General Non Fiction Category of the 2015 New York Book Festival… (more)

Love the spirit of the book, a tribute, and an anti-erasure pill.

Given the ratings, I expected more.

I don't think there has been enough rigor in the investigation: I detected wrong dates and confusing names, a structure that —probably for the sake of brevity—, sacrificed clarity and direction, to the point that some biographical sketches seemed rightly truncated to me.

The best of the book starts with the biographical sketches from the beginning of the 20th century onwards.

As for the writing, there were moments where I was hard for me to deal with grammar. I'm not sure if it was because it's poor or because my English isn't good enough. ( )

Loved this. Like one of those old style Who's Who books, or an excellent encyclopedia of tiny queer love stories. Worth it for reference, worth it for the reminder of how much love and art and blood sweat and tears gay people have put into the world, often unknown until after death. ( )
