I thought that “Kitty Cat, Kitty Cat, Are You Going To School?” was a great book. One thing that I really liked about this book was that it had a rhyming pattern throughout the whole book. It starts with, “Kitty Cat, Kitty Cat, it’s time to go to school. What fun, Mother, my teacher is so cool!” and ends with, “Kitty Cat, Kitty Cat, your day at school is done. Yes, yes, Teacher, and I had SO MUCH FUN!” This rhyming pattern gives the book a very appealing flow and keeps it fast paced, which is beneficial for young readers. In addition, the book repeats “Kitty Cat, Kitty Cat” at the start of each page which would allow students to join in during a read aloud. Repetition is also very beneficial for emerging readers. Lastly, the author only writes four lines on each page, and the text is big and clear. This makes the book very easily readable for young children, which is who the book would appeal to. The main idea of the book is to tell the story of what Kitty Cat does on an average day of school. ( )
