I read this with the girls of course! Not as good as the other “To Give a Mouse” books and this feels different after seeing a live mouse the other day and it scared me a lot unfortunately. My audience of little readers loved it though! (Or maybe they just like Halloween? I think it’s both.) A cute Halloween kids book, I didn’t know they made that many, let alone that the ‘To Give A Mouse’ series has one!
This book is very appropriate through its vivid illustrations and holiday context. Although I failed to find a central message, I would still recommend this book.

The Mouse does exhibit friendship throughout the book because he has his friend painting with him.
Mouse is excited for fall because that means it is time to decorate pumpkins! But one is missing. Where could it have gone?
