Billy uses his imagination to picture himself as the biggest boy around. He'd be taller than a house and even have to drink from the lakes. However, right now, Billy is exactly the size he is supposed to be. Billy climbs into bed like a big boy and holds his hand up to the moon. He says to himself, "I really am the biggest boy", and dreams of what it would be like. When we are young, we often think about a time when we won't be so little anymore. Life goes by too fast to be in a hurry to grow up. In my opinion, life is best when little. Billy will be the biggest boy around one day, but right now, he is just the age he is supposed to be.
I am drawn to books illustrated by Nancy Tafuri, because of the grand scale and motion she uses to keep the story simple, memorable, and in motion. The author Kevin Henkes makes the story timeless and a fun read for children and adults. My son and I really enjoyed this book and plan to read it again and again!
I believe I would have liked this more when my sons were little. Assuming that they liked it. It just doesn't quite work for me now though, despite the fact that am I fan of Henkes and of Tafuri. I would love to know what real little boys think of it!
This book was a little wordy but cute. My little brother loved this book; he always calls himself a big boy. I found it cute how the little boy mom made him feel much like a big boy. My little brother screamed the whole time,"I am a big boy sister." I believed it was very cute.
When we are younger we always dream of what it would be like to be older and bigger. The Biggest Boy is a book that shows a young boy being larger than life. With the help of his parents Billy drifts of into another realm imagining him being as big as unheard of things.
This book is about a boy who imagines what it’s like to be the biggest boy around. He never thought that being so big could make such a big difference in life itself.
