"Macy Mercer was abducted by Chester Woodran, who took her to replace his own daughter that he lost. Macy has faced horrors worse than she ever imagined, but is still determined to get back home. The series follows Macy as she fights to survive and hopefully escape. It also follows her closest friends and family who have their own secrets. It's recommended that the books are read in order."--Page 4 of cover.… (more)

First time reading her books

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I have downloaded the other two. I couldn't put it down. I read it in a day. I think everyone should give it a shot. I can't wait to see what's in store

Good thing this was only 200 pages because I would have stopped reading if it was more. This is probably one of the worst "suspense" books ive ever read. Besides the real fear of meeting someone via internet and it could be anyone, this book is ridiculous.

First of all, not enough back story to the daughter and the wife... it's like they just appear here and there via memory, makes the book incomplete and just odd. Then the story just ends.... with Macys family and with Chester... just "the end". I understand it's a series, but at least give me more information regarding the story, it's just a man who takes a girl and forces her to become his daughter and her family is searching for her. I don't know, didn't make me want to read anymore of this series. ( )

This should be required reading for all teenagers! This story is about the kidnapping of a teenage girl, Macy, by someone she met on the Internet posing as a teenage boy. What made this particular story so engaging for me was the dual storylines. Being able to see into the events of both the kidnapping and the family looking for their missing child added depth to the story while helping me connect with the victim. I am anxious to get my hands on the next book ASAP! ( )
