Babymouse is back and this time she's going to sleepaway camp for two weeks. Babymouse is certain she's going to be a great camper, but what happens when she has no friends and is terrible at every camping activity she tries? The incomparable Babymouse will find a way to win everyone over... or will she?? Another spirited and imaginative offering from the Babymouse team, it made me nostalgic for summer camp (and I didn't even really like camp!).
I was interested by this book, I enjoyed her day dreaming a lot in this book. And the message about going to camp and even though it may start bad theres always time and might end up amazing! Illustrations did a good job explaining the story.
Summary: This graphic novel is about a mouse name Babymouse that goes to camp. She is really excited and know that she will not get homesick. As camp begins, she starts to make mistakes and her whole group begins to dislike her. This causes her to want to go home. She ends up staying and becoming friends with her group there. In the end, she gets along with her group and really enjoys camp.

Personal Response: This was the first graphic novel I have ever read so it was a new experience for me. Personally, I liked this more than I thought I would. It is a relatable story for children. I also love the color pink so I enjoyed the pink and black illustrations.

Classroom Extension Ideas:
1. The class could go on a walk to recognize familiar show more landmarks and make a map like Babymouse did.
2. The students could make a comic using one color like they did in this book. The teacher could tell the importance of color in a book.

Consistent with the rest of the Babymouse books, which is to say cute (but now Owly-cute), funny, and a fun title for kids.
Babymouses next exciting summer adventure
Horn Book (The Horn Book Guide, Spring 2006)
"Living in a Walter Mitty–like dream world, sassy, smart Babymouse--the heroine of these graphic novels for young readers--faces daily challenges (missing the bus, dodgeball, popularity). Each challenge brings its own accompanying daydream, rich in pink hues and dramatic overtones. New readers will appreciate the familiar situations, humorous asides, and easy-to-digest plots; the graphic format is easy to follow." Category: Younger Fiction. 2005, Random, 96pp, 12.99, 5.95. Ages 5 to 9. Rating: 2: Superior, well above average.
