This is the highly imaginative story of Sonny Shivers and his Mama, Papa, Grandma and Grandpa, a very flat family who find themselves in a dark, chilly, and highly unlikely situation. Amidst earthquakes galore and great flashing lights, giant monster hands keep reaching forth to snatch parts of their landscape—Cheesy Square, for instance, and Jelly. Will they escape the bitter cold or become permanent residents of this unusual land? ( )

Super long and super weird. The Shivers live in the fridge, one by one they disappear, turns out they are refrigerator magnets. There is a lot of complaining about being cold. ( )

This book is a good example of fantasy because it is a story about a family of magnets that get stuck in a cold refrigerator and decide to leave their familiar but cold environment. The theme of this book is courage to get out of a situation you are not happy with.
The media in this book is colored pencil. ( )

Zelinsky’s illustrations are pitch perfect for this comically surreal scenario.
