Yes, Ed Emberley, of Drummer Hoff and Go Away, Big Green Monster, and lots more, is *still* making picture-books. ?áYay!

Rebecca, his daughter, must be a poet. ?áThis is written with an odd metrical style that is perfect for robots cobbled from second-hand parts. ?áThe story line feels like it's the introduction to a series - all world-building and abrupt ending, unfortunately. ?á But the pix are delightful, with lots of detail to pore over. ?áAnd the theme is a good one about mutually supportive friendships.

So, are robots the new scarecrows? ?áThe aliens among us, the alive but not of flesh, those who have feelings though we'd rather not think about them that way...? ( )
